Charming Backyard Elopement | Denver, CO
Hello again from gorgeous Colorado!
During my last couple weeks of living here, I have had the sweet opportunity to be a part of a few Covid-19 (or "quarantine") weddings. These small, intimate elopements radiate so much warmth and comfort- they are marked by loving families, sweet embraces, and a sense of familiarity.
One of those elopements was for Paige + Christian.

These two reached out to me a while ago about shooting their elopement in the mountains. I was excited from the get-go, and the excitement only grew for all of us as we got closer to May. When all the Coronavirus news broke, and things started getting shut down, Paige and Christian had to change plans (as did most of my sweet clients these past few months). They switched from an adventurous mountain elopement to a (some might say, MORE adventurous) backyard elopement at Paige's grandparent's house. That being said, they did not sacrifice any sort of beauty, as this backyard was a PARADISE. The fountain, the green grass, and the sweet table setup for the reception were all STUNNING. Not to mention- Paige handmade hundreds of tiny paper airplanes to be their backdrop! My HEART!
Paige + Christian were both so relaxed and content with their day- all they wanted was to be married and celebrate with those closest to them, and it showed. Their family was near all day, getting to share in memorable moments like watching their first look and bridals from afar.

Now to go off about the BRIDE HERSELF. I met Paige when I showed up that day and we KNEW we were meant to be friends. From her cool tattoos to her gorgeous dress choice to her spunky and loving personality- she is a DOLL and a DIME in all senses of those words! And now we are friends who are probably going to eat ice cream and goof off together, duh.

^ Paige got this "CAT-lifornia roll" tattoo from a game of "tattoo roulette" with some coworkers. Why is she the coolest. She also has the coordinates of Denver, a sick geometric pineapple, and the most ahhhmazing bee on her forearm! (and I think maybe a few I'm forgetting).

Paige's stunning and flowy gown was a joy to photograph, and of course is another GOLDEN design from BHLDN. (find it here).

The ceremony was glowing and full of emotional words and thoughtful prayers for one another. It made me remember the true beauty of marriage and how we could never do it well without a loving God to guide us.
Their night slowly and calmly wound down while everyone sipped margaritas and munched on enchiladas. There was dancing, cake cutting, and the exchange of beautiful well-wishes.
All in all, Coronavirus has in fact served to bring a certain sweetness to a wedding day. They've been intimate, and love-focused. I am so thankful to be invited into these moments and celebrate as if I were a part of the family.
To Paige + Christian - Congratulations! I hope your marriage is full of laughter, victory over struggle, and plenty of margaritas.

With all joy,
